The John Cranko School in Stuttgart is an elite intrantional ballet school providing a live in education in classical ballet, from basic training to a professional degree. Young students travel from all over the world to train here. The competition proposal aims to allow young students practice studios with a view over the city and to the adjacent landscape, private outdoor space for rest and recreation, and welcoming dormitory areas for socializing as well as private space.
The proposed GRC cladding, linear strips of glazing, and slim-line operable windows contribute to the building’s distinctly iconic form.
